Cueva del Gato & de Caminito del Rey

This year again we choose Spanjamper for hiring a motorhome and again we had a super holiday.

We started at Malaga Airport. Although a camper at this airport is not convenient to park, Frank has a good solution to make the transfer smooth. As soon as we landed, we contacted and Frank came with the camper. Because we had previously rented a motorhome with him, the instruction did not last long and we could set off.

First from Malaga to the west via Mijas, Ronda direction Gibraltar. A fantastic experience was the Cueva del Gato near Ronda, a cool lake with a waterfall from a cave; a little paradise. And yet with the motorhome easy to do.

After a few days the holiday routine went well: first do some shopping before you install the motorhome  at a campsite. Although it was July, we were able to easily travel with it on all campsites without booking.

From Gibraltar to Tarifa, Camping Rio Jara was right on an almost empty beach with high waves; there with mainly kitesurfers.

Because we had to be at Malaga Airport again after a week, we unfortunately could not go further up the Atlantic coast and we went to a beautiful campsite near El Chorro; Parque Ardales.

Highly recommended, located in a forest on a crystal clear mountain lake and within walking distance of el Caminito del Rey. Even such an unforgettable experience. The narrow path against the gorge wall has been beautifully refurbished and if you do not suffer from fear of heights, you can enjoy it from start to finish.

After a stopover in Malaga we went to the east with the first stop Nerja with its impressive caves. We also made an attempt to make a river walk in the Rio Chillar, but unfortunately we only met dry riverbed, maybe we did not go far enough who would say it ?!

Granada was beautiful but warm so we decided not to travel to Cordoba or Seville and we ended up at Almeria by a detour (cave houses at Guadix and western town Fort Bravo near Tabernas).
No special coast so after 1 night at camping La Garrofa that was on a beautiful beach, we are back to our favorite this holiday: Parque Ardales.

But we have not seen everything in Spain yet so we will definitely come back again to continue with a camper. Hasta la vista!
