COVID-19 – (update 18.05.20)

We received some latest news about Spain opening up their borders, according Transport Minister Ábalos this will take place towards the end of June. The date will be when the local population of Spain is allowed to travel within the country.

Ábalos confía en que el turismo internacional se reinicie a finales de junio

COVID-19 – (update 16.05.20)

It’s time for another update. Phase I has now started in most of Spain or will start on Monday.

Overall, this means the following for us in the south of Spain:

  • Family and friends can meet. The maximum number of people is 10 and with a distance of 2 meters.
  • The retail trade is allowed to open with the observance of 30% capacity of the permitted public. The large shopping centers remain closed with the exception of food sales that may take place there.
  • Terraces from bars and restaurants will open with an occupancy rate of 50% (previously 30% had been announced).
  • Hotels and tourist apartments will open. For the time being, without using the public areas.
free travel within the province is allowed for families.
  • Museums and libraries will open.

For us it means that we are open to the public from Monday May 18.

In short, a step forward and on to phase II now. Regarding international air traffic, we get a lot of questions about when it will be possible to fly again.

The answer at this point is that we don’t know. The opening of the borders is expected to take place in an EU context or be agreed between a number of EU countries.

We expect to hear about this only in 2 or 3 weeks, we take into account that no international tourism will be allowed in June or possibly starting up again from the last week of June. So far, hopefully we will be soon back for more news.

On the coast in Malaga, the beaches are now open again for this purpose and this was a success with a only a few exceptions but most people respecting the distance. Furthermore, from May 2, it will be possible to do outdoor exercise and walk outside. On April 28, there will be more clarity about the following measures.

As expected, the current lockdown until April 26th. will be extended by a few weeks, i.e. until May 9th.. Meanwhile, we see declining figures in Spain and this gives hope for a further scaling-down of measures and so the road the road to recovery can be taken step by step.

COVID-19 – (update 09.04.20)

After the expiry of the lockdown period on April 26, it is generally expected that the current measures will be extended for a few weeks in a slightly weakened form. In this case it might be that the customers who rented in the month of May will be affected. As soon as there is news we will contact these customers and we will also update the information here.

COVID-19 – Notice (update 23.03.20)

The Spanish government has extended the restrictions announced on March 14 for a period of two weeks through Saturday, April 11. The clients who would leave in the first weeks of April have been informed or are being informed during these days and we are looking with them to move the relevant periods to a later time.

COVID-19 – Notice

Because of the latest developments in Spain with a strongly increasing number of infections of the coronavirus, the Spanish government yesterday, March 14, has ordered to limit travel through Spain and only necessary trips can be made. The measures were announced for a period of 15 days. We have therefore decided to cancel all rentals starting from today until March 31. For rental periods from 1 April next, these can take place unless the authorities extend or amend the current measures package.

We are currently contacting the travelers concerned and they will be offered the option of changing their journey to another period, whereby the amount already paid is deducted from the new rent or a credit is given that can be used for later reservation travel period in the period until March 31, 2021.
